random elevator conversation
Like I so often do, I had an unique elevator conversation this week. Thought I'd share this one with you.
Student: I like your shoes.
Me: Oh, thanks.
Student: I have big feet too.

LOL! I love it - where else could you have such a conversation? Never bored in Taiwan.
(book 3 is on it's way to you)

Haha, hope you're not sensitive. :) But if you are, that's ok...I have big feet too. ;)

God always has a way of keeping his children humble doesn't He?
Such are the different cultural differences around the world. Here, for example, people mean well when they compliment you on how fat you are (meaning one is well-fed, and obviously not lacking for good food.) When someone is sickly they will talk about how thin that person is looking (unhealthy).

Oh yeah . . . I took it all "in stride."
I responded by talking about how it must be really hard for her to find cute shoes here in Tawian. (I got the ones she was talking about while I was in Thailand.)
I was not insulted AT ALL by her comment; I just thought it was a funny conversation. :)
Guy, here the compliment that I have a hard time taking is that I have a big nose. They say it with laced with envy, but it took me a long time to be able say "you think so? thanks" to what seems like an insult.
