I found these hanging outside the preschool near my home.
American holiday + Taiwanese culture = a new kind of Halloween lantern.
I'm guessing that perhaps they interpreted the word "lantern" in "jack-o-lantern" in a very Asian way.

aw, that's sad, they've adopted Halloween? I wish they didn't and instead adopt THANKSGIVING as a holiday/celebration for themselves.

right, I personally don't celebrate Halloween and haven't in a very long time.
I think mostly here it is something that preschools and cram schools do for "American culture." And, just like Christmas they do not understand or know the roots of the holiday--just some of the outward symbols.
I posted this not to comment on halloween, but to show how easily culture from one place changes as it is taken to another--adapted.
